Evolving from a lineage of former organizations that includes Unity Singers and Celebration Singers, the Lancaster Community Chorus came into being in the autumn of 2012.
The chorus is now a fully-auditioned ensemble, which presents a series of three concerts each program year. Quality performances, featuring a large variety of music styles, organized into interesting and entertaining concert themes, have rapidly become hallmarks of what LCC is all about.
Talented singers that comprise our chorus give generously of their time and energy in preparing each concert. Since we have only eight rehearsals to prepare for each performance, the singers spend much time between practices learning their music on their own. LCC performers come from many communities in the central Ohio area, and also come from many different backgrounds, including professional musicians, educators, students, and those who have raised their musical hobby to an advanced level. All share a great spirit and a willingness to give their best to bring alive music for our audiences.
Although LCC sings for the intrinsic value of the music itself, the enjoyment of that process is heightened by the wonderful audiences that come to enjoy our music. We have been blessed from the outset of this musical journey by large and enthusiastic crowds at our concerts, thus creating even more audience members.
Lancaster Community Chorus is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization.
